(English)
functions/html_to_text.php in the Chat module before 1.5.2 for activeCollab allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary PHP code via the message[message_text] parameter to chat/add_messag, which is not properly handled when executing the preg_replace function with the eval switch.
activeCollab Chat module versions prior to 1.5.2
Authenticated attacker sends crafted message with PHP code via chat/add_message endpoint exploiting preg_replace /e modifier
Upgrade activeCollab to version 1.5.2 or later that removes the /e modifier from preg_replace calls
grep -rn 'preg_replace.*\/e' /path/to/activecollab/functions/html_to_text.php 2>/dev/null || echo 'Not vulnerable'
