Linux 커널의 i40e 드라이버에서 신뢰할 수 없는 가상 기능(VF)이 관리자에 의해 설정된 MAC 주소를 임의로 삭제할 수 있는 취약점이 발견되었습니다. VF 인터페이스를 다운시킬 때 PF가 설정한 기본 MAC 주소가 00:00:00:00:00:00으로 초기화되는 문제가 있습니다.
💡 쉬운 설명
관리자가 가상 컴퓨터에 특정 네트워크 주소(MAC)를 고정해 두었음에도 불구하고, 가상 컴퓨터가 스스로 그 주소를 지워버릴 수 있는 보안 허점이 있습니다. 이로 인해 네트워크 설정이 의도치 않게 초기화될 수 있습니다.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
i40e: Do not allow untrusted VF to remove administratively set MAC
Currently when PF administratively sets VF's MAC address and the VF
is put down (VF tries to delete all MACs) then the MAC is removed
from MAC filters and primary VF MAC is zeroed.
Do not allow untrusted VF to remove primary MAC when it was set
administratively by PF.
Reproducer:
1) Create VF
2) Set VF interface up
3) Administratively set the VF's MAC
4) Put VF interface down
