리눅스 커널의 SMB 클라이언트에서 rename(2) 호출 시 발생하는 경합 조건(Race Condition) 취약점입니다. 파일 이름을 변경하는 과정에서 지연된 닫기 작업과 I/O 완료 대기 중에 대상 파일에 대한 동시 오픈이 가능해지는 문제가 있었습니다. 이를 해결하기 위해 파일 이름 변경 전 dentry의 해시를 미리 해제하여 동시 접근을 차단하도록 수정되었습니다.

파일의 이름을 바꾸는 도중에 다른 프로그램이 해당 파일에 동시에 접근할 수 있는 틈이 생기는 보안 결함입니다. 이 틈을 이용하면 파일 처리 과정에서 예상치 못한 오류나 보안 문제가 발생할 수 있습니다.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
smb: client: fix race with concurrent opens in rename(2)
Besides sending the rename request to the server, the rename process
also involves closing any deferred close, waiting for outstanding I/O
to complete as well as marking all existing open handles as deleted to
prevent them from deferring closes, which increases the race window
for potential concurrent opens on the target file.
Fix this by unhashing the dentry in advance to prevent any concurrent
opens on the target.
